Maxim Bakov

Corporate Finance
Maxim has more than 15 years of experience working in large multinational and Russian companies, including more than 10 years management experience within finance and corporate finance areas. He has practical exposure to reorganisation, process improvement and business consulting assignments with top international Russian businesses (Japan Tobacco International, Cadbury Schweppes). Maxim held CFO role in Uralchem Group, worked as Executive Director in Central Partnership (Profmedia holding), CFO and Deputy CEO role in KM-Invest ($15 bln. fund for Messrs. Potanin and Prokhorov), CFO in Systematica Group. Handled a wide range of finance projects relating to international investments, M&A deals, share buybackdeals, including structuring of the deals, finance due-diligence, engineering of motivation systems and effective exit strategies, preparation to IPOs.
Maxim has proven experience in setting up procedures for tax, finance and management accounting to meet both Russian and International accounting standards as well as corporate reporting standards; setting up and managing all functional areas within finance teams, including finance controlling, budgeting and analysis; corporate reporting according to RAP, US/UK GAAP, IAS; execution of integrated projects within treasury management, including setting up centralised treasury function, success track record in direct negotiation with international (Chase, Unicredit, Raiffeisen) and Russian banks (Sberbank, VTB, Alfa-bank) raising finance and debt-negotiation. Proven expertise in supervision and execution of MIS implementation projects with a number of international and russian companies, including SAP R3, Hyperion, Microsoft Dynamics AX, 1C.
Maxim holds a degree with honors from Saint-Petersburg University of Economics and Finance and is finalising Executive MBA with IMD Business School. Maxim also holds professional international (FCCA) and Russian finance and audit licences.
